Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use memorized.co.za or order from us. Nothing in them limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

1. Who we are. Memorized makes custom 3D-printed tiles. Contact: info@memorized.co.za.

2. Who can order. You must be 18 or over, or have a parent or guardian's help. We deliver within South Africa only.

3. Your order. Your order is accepted once your payment goes through and you get a confirmation email. We may decline an order and refund you in full if we can't make it, for example if we can't place your map or route, or it breaks clause 6.

4. Prices and payment. Prices are in South African rand. Standard delivery within South Africa is free. Yoco handles card payments through Shopify's checkout. If a price on the site is clearly wrong, we'll contact you before going ahead, and you can cancel for a full refund.

5. What you get. Each tile is made to order from public map data and the details you give us. Pictures and 3D previews on the site are examples, so your tile will look different. Colours can vary slightly, and small marks from 3D printing are normal. Our FAQ explains what each tile shows and its limits. Tiles are keepsakes, not for navigation, surveying or safety use.

6. What you send us. Please check your spelling, place, route, flight and tab text before you order, because we print what you give us. You confirm that you may use what you upload and that it doesn't break anyone's rights. We won't make anything unlawful, hateful or abusive, or anything that invades someone's privacy. You keep your rights in what you send, and you allow us to use it only to make your tile and support your order. We won't show your tile or screenshot in our marketing without your permission.

7. Delivery, cancelling and returns. Our Shipping Policy and Returns and Refunds Policy form part of these terms. Tiles are made to your specifications, so the usual right to cancel online purchases within 7 days doesn't apply to them, to the extent the law allows.

8. Care. Tiles are printed in PLA, which can soften or warp in heat. Keep your tile out of direct sun and away from heat. Follow our hanging instructions, and make sure the wall and mounting tape are suitable. Keep small parts away from young children.

9. Our site and content. Our site, designs, brand and content belong to Memorized or are used with permission. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors and Microsoft building footprints, and globe data from Natural Earth. Please don't copy our designs or misuse the site.

10. Giveaways. Our giveaway has its own terms at memorized.co.za/win. They apply to the giveaway instead of these terms wherever the two differ.

11. Responsibility. We aren't responsible for loss we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for delays beyond our reasonable control. If we're responsible for a loss, our liability is limited to what you paid for the order, as far as the law allows. This doesn't limit liability that can't legally be limited.

12. Privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your information.

13. Changes. We may update these terms and will post any changes here. The terms in place when you ordered apply to that order.

14. Law and complaints. South African law applies. Please email us first so we can try to fix any problem. You can also approach the National Consumer Commission, or a court with jurisdiction.
